Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest of the world spreading across the delta of India and Bangladesh. It covers for more than 60% of India's total mangrove forests. Indian part of Sundarban Biosephere reserve is 9600 sq. km area, 4,200 sq. km comes under reserve forest and 5,400 sq. km area comprises lands outside the forests, within the Intertidal zone covering 108 islands with 54 island of dense forest area.<br />
